A net is a 2D diagram that can be cut out and folded into a 3D object. A net requires visualization practice and spatial awareness.
Activities you can do with nets:
- Have a cube, and ask students to draw the net diagram without lifting the block from the page.
- Having a sheet full of different net diagrams, and figure out which of the 20 nets is a functional one for a cube.
- Having students draw nets of different shapes.
- Have students cut out the net and construct the 3D shape.
- Building toys – Like Papertoy Glowbots
