Cabbage Juice as a natural indicator.

Cabbage juice can act a natural pH scale indicator that spans the entire pH scale.

 

Procedure:

  • Boil purple cabbage in distilled water.
  • Strain
  • Dilute to about 1:5 with distilled water
  • Poor into small plastic cups or beakers
  • Possible labs
    • Identify the pH of each color by adding chemicals with known pH value
    • Find a pre-made scale to assess the pH scale of house hold chemicals
